Abstract: | This document presents an analysis of the contribution of ICTs to facilitate access and continuity of education at hospital centers, which can benefit girls and boys from 6 to 12 years of age who require medium or long-stay hospitalization due to a chronic disease, such as cancer. It reflects on the potential of e-learning to contribute to the e-inclusion of this group of children, in order for them to continue their studies during their hospitalization, as required by the "European Charter on the Right to Educational Care for Children / as and Sick Adolescents". Based on a qualitative research, it is argued why non-compliance with this right can affect the quality of life, school reintegration and the subsequent socio-occupational integration of these students. Among the results of this TFM, the role of hospital classrooms and the contribution of ICT in the teaching-learning process of hospitalized girls and boys stand out. This line of research has a great future, if it is analyzed from a multidisciplinary approach, to inspire the development of new studies and public policies aimed at improving the situation of hospitalized children. |
