Abstract: | Twitch, with its interactive live streams and the attractiveness of its streamers, has revolutionized the communication paradigm and is generating new types of information consumption by young people. In this context, this paper aims to explore the causes of the success of Amazon's platform among Generation Z and Millennials in order to determine whether they can make Twitch a new journalistic medium. All this through a methodology that combines quantitative techniques such as survey and qualitative techniques such as observation and analysis. The results highlight interactivity and synchrony as the most seductive properties of Twitch, while praising Amazon's platform as an excellent communication tool for digital journalism. There is also some suspicion on the part of generalist cybermedia regarding the use of Twitch as a journalistic medium. |
