Abstract: | In high population density cities, emergency vehicles often encounter situations in which moving around the city becomes complicated, causing delays in their arrival or, in the worst case, not arriving in time in a critical event. The objective of this project is to establish a base for the development of a system that manages the traffic creating specific corridors in real-time for authorized vehicles in order to prioritize their transit and reduce response times. In case of an emergency, communication will be established between the authorized vehicles involved, the different devices in the city and the corresponding traffic management centre, as well as, if possible, with the rest of the vehicles in the area, to prioritize the authorized vehicles through a corridor specifically enabled for that case. The vehicle will be redirected to the shortest route, prioritizing its transit and redirecting the rest of the vehicles to alternative routes or cutting them off to minimize the response time in an incident. To carry out this proposal, cooperative systems, mainly V2X communication, will be used as a basis. In the future, this proposal would also serve for more efficient traffic management, avoiding congestion and, in this way, reducing vehicle consumption. |
