Title: La interpretación policial desde la perspectiva de una intérprete-policía
Author: Arnal Perea, Natalia
Tutor: Perramon Civit, Maria
Abstract: When multiculturalism is reflected in all aspects of life with the incessant arrival of foreigners in Spain, the figure of the interpreter in the field of the police becomes essential. For this reason, the main objective of this research is to analyse the current situation in which interpreters work in the police and, to this end, the work has been divided into two parts. On the one hand, a theoretical study has been carried out to contextualise the work of police interpreters, describing their main characteristics and the legislation that grants them. In addition, a brief description of the profile and the characteristics of the police interpreters are given, together with the access of this type of interpreting, and a brief summary of the code of ethics that regulate them. On the other hand, from the perspective of a future interpreter, currently a police officer, the fieldwork has been carried out through data collected from interviews conducted with police officers working in different police forces, as well as police interpreters.
