Abstract: Spain is experiencing one of the biggest events in its history since 2020: the Covid-19 pandemic. An unprecedented situation that has also affected Communication. Throughout the months, our country has had to resort to it to transmit the need to maintain social distance, to use the mask or to control the population with perimeter closures, among others. A challenge that is currently in another phase after vaccination: the irruption of new variants and the challenge of the third dose. This Master's thesis (TFM) aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the crisis communication plan of the Ministry of Health during Covid-19 from September 2020 to September 2021. This topic is relevant and pertinent due to the fact that this health crisis has forced to reevaluate the strategies of the institutions and to learn (sometimes by leaps and bounds) from the mistakes. With all this, this TFM concludes that the institutional communication strategy has been, in general terms, coherent in terms of messages and spokespersons (after learning from the mistakes of previous epidemics, such as Ebola), but not complete. With the outbreak of the coronavirus, the Government was not prepared in terms of information, causing, in short, that Spain's reputation has not been reinforced after this communication plan.
