Title: Desarrollo de un generador automático de ejercicios gramaticales de euskera

Abstract: The aim of this project is to lay the groundwork for an automatic generator of grammar exercises in Basque at a beginners level. The program generates linguistic fill-in-the-gap items, and allows the user to choose between different syntactic and morphological phenomena to practice. The main feature of the application is the fact that it builds simple sentences that are always correct and semantically coherent. The system has been programmed from the ground up using Haskell, a pure and lazy functional programming language. The present work also describes the functional patterns that have proved useful in solving problems related with natural language generation tasks.
