Abstract: Colombia is a developing country, one of its main export channels is based on the textile and clothing sector, and this in turn is driven by Colombian SMEs, which is an important part of the country's active economy. Antioquia and its capital Medellín, stands out in the regional economy for its textile business activity. The Department of Antioquia integrates the large companies that make up the textile and clothing sector and these consolidate the manufacturing sector, which is one of the strongest in the regional and national economy. The competitiveness of SMEs in the textile and clothing sector is measured by their capacity to respond to the needs of the current market, the productivity and innovation of their products, the prices of the global market, their technological capacity and the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), and their capacity to compete with other national and foreign markets.
