Abstract: The present work deals with a patient diagnosed with delayed neurological syndrome after carbon monoxide poisoning. The chosen case is a 42-year-old fictitious patient who is referred to the neuropsychology service after 40 sessions of hyperbaric chamber treatment for carbon monoxide poisoning. The neuropsychological evaluation shows that the patient has a high premorbid cognitive function, which has been considered in the results of the evaluation and it is concluded that the patient has alterations in memory, attention, and executive functions, especially in the Working memory. Based on these results, an individual intervention consisting of 2 weekly sessions of 60 minutes for 6 months is proposed. The overall objective of the intervention is to reduce cognitive and behavioural impairment to minimize the impact of these on the daily life of the patient and her family, and to increase the patient's autonomy. The intervention includes cognitive stimulation, compensatory strategies, emotional support with the patient, sessions with the family. The expected results of the intervention are that the patient will improve the most basic functions such as attention, working memory, processing speed and verbal fluency. While deficits are expected to persist in immediate verbal memory, long term verbal memory, short and long term visual memory, constructive praxis, visual tracking, cognitive flexibility and executive functions, since they are more complex functions or are more damaged.
