Abstract: The degradation and decay of the consolidated urban spaces is one of the main urban problems that must be worked out by the different actors present in the cities of the world, especially those public and of local scale, in the coming years. Understanding this as a city challenge of special transcendence in well-being, the quality of life and social protection of persons, it is essential to improve the way in which the factors and elements that motivate the deterioration of the environment are diagnosed and, specifically, of public spaces and the network that connects them, unites and groups sharing dynamics and processes. In order to improve the detection of shortcomings and deficiencies in the network of public spaces and the search for solutions, it is necessary to systematically incorporate the people who walk them, they work, use, inhabit and share, a citizenship that gradually becomes more conscious and demanding around reality, often worrisome, where public things are experienced more immediately. Given the large city projects that are generated mostly from municipal public policies, it is easy to detect a certain disconnect with this everyday reality, many times due to a lack of known means for capturing these experiences, thoughts and citizen ideas. In addition, there is an urgent need to develop pilot projects that apply prospects for innovation, learning and ideation, which are widely used by local or neighbourhood society. This programme can, in turn, lead to an appropriate action plan that is also involved in adding demands and proposals for citizens who are consensual and working with the resident population and various public and private actors, ultimately transforming the traditional model of public participation in cities, reinforcing community action and facilitating urban innovation in the collective social fabric.
