Abstract: The Publications Service of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) is a public support service for its community, made up of students, administrative and service staff, and teaching and research staff. The global socioeconomic scenario and the new knowledge society pose new challenges and opportunities for academic publishers, through movements such as open science and digital transformation. Open access, digitization, marketing or the quality of content are some of the main defiances facing the Publications Service of the UAB. «Humanization» has been integrated into the nature of organizations, with the «purpose» of achieving development for society. The university press must align itself with the new Horizon 2030 of the UAB, to empower its reason why within the institution. This context is presented as an opportunity for the communication of the Publications Service of the UAB, if it is directed strategically based on the reality of the new university ecosystem. This project aims to respond to how to effectively guide the communication of the publisher, in order to position it in a differentiated way before its key audiences and among its competition, to ensure its long-term sustainability in the university publishing sector.
