Abstract: Patient presentation: a fictitious case of a 47-year-old male with major neurocognitive disorder due to brain trauma with behavioral alteration (apathy, irritability and impulsivity) caused by a fall from a height is presented. Description of the pathology: traumatic brain injury (TBI) has been defined as an alteration in brain function or other evidence of brain pathology caused by an external force (Menon et al., 2010). Cognitive impairments caused by TBI are heterogeneous, and virtually all higher cognitive functions can be affected (Junqué, 1984, 1986). The most common are attention, processing speed, visuospatial and visuoconstructive skills, language, memory, executive functions and social cognition. Main results of the evaluation: the patient presents cognitive performance indicative of mild cognitive impairment, severe alteration in social cognition, alterations in attentional abilities, processing speed, executive functions, showing behavioral, emotional and functional problems. Objective of the intervention: the purpose of the intervention program is to rehabilitate the altered cognitive functions aimed at achieving satisfactory social relationships. Description of the intervention: a 6-month rehabilitation program is proposed, consisting of 51 sessions, both individual and group, to be carried out in the patient's office, home, rehabilitation center and real environments, with a frequency of two sessions per week. It is a multidimensional program that includes the rehabilitation of social cognition, as well as attentional functions and related processes, executive functions and behavioral, emotional and functional aspects.
