Abstract: The emergence of social media has encouraged a space where teenagers build their own identity, shaped by real and virtual life, and which can become prefabricated according to a desirable peer-to-peer image or what influencers show. The aim of this study is to analyse the impact of networks on the formation of self-concept and to define what concept of emotional well-being they form through them. To this end, a questionnaire has been given to a sample of 126 ESO students. It is a quantitative study of cross-cutting surveys. The results show that more than half of young people experience feelings of anguish and frustration when they self-compared with the content that influencers project on the networks or when published content does not achieve the desired success, but they do not recognise that these emotions condition the construction of their own self-concept and emotional well-being. The interpretation of these results shows a possible lack of awareness or ignorance of young people regarding the effects and real impact of networks on their psychosocial health.
