Abstract: Patriarchy relegated women to the private sphere, public space was only for men, and the voice of women was silenced. An attempt has been made to naturalize this institutionalized system of domination, but it is a transformable social construct. This paper studies how there is an evolution in Catalonia since the 19th century, when women unite to make political and social demands, until the 20th century when their grouping and political participation became institutionalized. We see the first women's political organizations at the beginning of the 20th century and the women's wings of political parties, whose creation has a lot to do with granting the vote to women; until the interruption caused by the Civil War. Women will go beyond what most of society in general, and their colleagues particularly, expected. These are very diverse political organizations, through which women want to make their voices heard and that emphasize the need to improve the education and training of women in order to truly achieve equality and emancipation.
