Title: El impacto de la precariedad y la desigualdad social en la formación de las adicciones
Author: Martínez López, Susana
Tutor: Pellicer Cardona, Isabel
Abstract: The aim of this study is to explore the impact of job insecurity and inequality in the formation of addictions. To this end, documentary information and bibliography have been compiled in relation to these concepts, showing that job insecurity and social inequality have always existed in our society, and have even been related to mental health disorders such as depression and anxiety. Therefore, this work carries out an in-depth review of the concept of labor precariousness and social inequality, specifying the consequences that people may have in relation to their mental health to later relate them to the formation of addictions. At the same time, four interviews were conducted with key informants to verify the direct relationship between social inequality, job insecurity and how they resorted to the consumption of drugs, alcohol, or other types of addictions to reduce the psychological consequences of having to live in this situation. Finally, a survey has been applied for the same purpose, with the intention of reaching as many people as possible and to know their opinion and experience, which has been vital for this research. Among the results, it is worth highlighting the opinion that most respondents and interviewees have about precariousness, inequality, and addictions and, above all, how they perceive that there is great neglect in this regard by the government and public institutions.
