El consum de pornografia online i l’impacte en les actituds a l’adolescència

Abstract

Objectius. El consum de pornografia s’ha convertit en una pràctica habitual de la societat contemporània, inclosa la població adolescent. Sovint, el contingut pornogràfic mostra agressions físiques i verbals, així com violència implícita i simbòlica contra les dones. Diversos estudis han mostrat evidència a favor de la relació entre consum de pornografia, actituds d’acceptació de la violència sexual i conductes sexuals agressives contra les dones. En aquest sentit, aquest estudi pretén conèixer quin consum fa la població adolescent d’aquest nou fenomen, aprofundir en el tipus de material pornogràfic consumit, determinar si hi ha una relació amb les actituds d’acceptació de la violència contra les dones i identificar si hi ha diferències significatives entre sexes per les diferents variables. Marc metodològic, es va emprar una metodologia quantitativa, descriptiva i transversal d’enquestes. Es va administrar un qüestionari online a una mostra de 82 adolescents del context català d’entre 15 i 19 anys. Els resultats es van analitzar mitjançant estadística no paramètrica. Resultats. Es van trobar relacions estadísticament significatives entre les diverses variables estudiades. Les persones amb un alt consum de pornografia violenta puntuaven significativament més alt a l’escala d’actituds congruents amb la pornografia. Els nois van reportar un major consum de pornografia i van obtenir puntuacions més altes de l’escala, en comparació amb les noies. És necessari seguir investigant per tal de determinar quin és el sentit de la relació, quin és el paper de la socialització de gènere i l’abast de l’impacte en les actituds dels i de les adolescents.

Objectives. The consumption of pornography has become a common practice in contemporary society, including the adolescent population. Often, pornographic content shows physical and verbal aggression, as well as implicit and symbolic violence against women. Several studies have shown evidence in favor of the relationship between pornography consumption, attitudes of acceptance of sexual violence, and aggressive sexual behaviors against women. In this sense, this study aims to know the consumption of this new phenomenon by the adolescent population, to deepen in the type of pornographic material consumed, to determine if there is a relationship with attitudes of acceptance of violence against women and to identify if there are significant differences between sexes for the different variables. Method. Quantitative, descriptive, and cross-sectional survey methodology was used. An online questionnaire was administered to a sample of 82 adolescents between 15 and 19 years of age in the Catalan context. The results were analyzed using non-parametric statistics. Results. Statistically significant relationships were found between the different variables studied. People with a high consumption of violent pornography scored significantly higher on the scale of attitudes congruent with pornography. Boys reported higher pornography consumption and scored higher on the scale compared to girls. Further research is needed to determine the direction of the relationship, what role gender socialization plays, and the extent of the impact on adolescent attitudes.
