Abstract: Gender equality and equal representation of women in all areas of society are issues of vital importance and continuous struggle. Spaces of opinion play a crucial role in shaping public discourse and shaping society's opinion. However, there is persistent inequality between the sexes in these spaces, where female voices continue to be underrepresented and discriminated against. The objective of this study is to account for gender inequality on the website of the prestigious newspaper La Voz de Galicia, specifically in its opinion spaces. Through a multidisciplinary approach, the in-depth analysis of the columns and opinion articles published in the Galician newspaper throughout 2022 and the testimonies of various professionals working in this field; the presence, visibility, and quality of female voices in these spaces will be investigated with the aim of shedding light on this problem and contributing to the promotion of a more inclusive and equitable society. According to what has been observed, the strategy followed reveals patterns of inequality in terms of the quantity and quantity of the female voices represented in that section. However, there has been a greater diversity of topics addressed by the authors, which indicates a certain broadening in the representation of female voices in different areas of debate and discussion.
