Abstract: The measures to improve the job stability of temporary civil servants provided for by Spain’s Law 20/2021, of 28 December, to reduce temporary employment in the civil service, began to be implemented in 2022, a process that will continue in the 2023 and 2024 civil service recruitment processes. This article explains the most complex issues raised by the implementation of the Law over the course of 2022 and how it has been reflected in other laws and regulations, as well as in the terms and conditions of the calls for applications to fill civil service positions approved by the different public administrations and bodies in this first year of its enforcement.
