Abstract: Since its foundation, the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) has made available to students the educational resources they need to acquire knowledge from each of our programmes. Over time, we have made the transition from a model based on our own printed text materials (modules) to a model that combines our own resources with those available on the market or as open access. And we always prioritize the digital version. The impetus for the full digitization of teaching at the UOC came as part of the plan to streamline shipments, which involved transferring all the textbooks used for teaching at the UOC to digital formats. It is worth highlighting the work done by the reference librarians with the teaching staff to make the transition, and the work of the team responsible for the collection to explore the publishing market and foster adaptation to these formats, while ensuring the best possible conditions for accessing the resources. This case study presents the results of the plan to streamline shipments, and charts the UOC Library's journey towards use of the digital book format.
