Abstract: Certainly, digital signature has been one of the principal elements that have made viable the establishment of electronic Administration (especially in the tax sphere, where the constantly transmission of confidential information is the base of its operation). In that sense, in view of the lack of standardization that characterizes Internet, its encryption system have been the solution to ensure the authenticity, the integrity, the certification of the origin of electronic documents and the utter impossibility of interception during its transmission. Therefore, as a substantial element of the relationship between the Administration and citizens and as part of the base of the administrative system (especially in the tax sphere), is particularly relevant the study of its concept, operation, use and regulation.
