Abstract: Language learning has evolved making methos and approaches lead teachers towards the development of enriching experiences based on students’ needs. Technology has become an ally within language teaching and learning processes allowing the introduction of varied materials such as audios or videos, and the inclusion of multimodal applications to be used in computers or mobile devices. Nearpod is an example of these applications which provide the opportunity for designing diverse single activities or didactic lessons that promote and enhance language learning. Consequently, this Final Master Project (FMP) is oriented by language learning and language acquisition theories in combination with technology and the effectiveness demonstrated by Nearpod in prior studies to improve the language teaching and learning processes in order to design a didactic proposal using Nearpod to strengthen reading comprehension of English written texts in first semester students of a languages program at a public university in Colombia. The studied literature and the creation of this FMP make it possible to conclude that it is viable designing a didactic proposal using Nearpod which integrates multimodal materials and interactive exercises that contribute mainly to enhancing students’ reading comprehension of texts written in English, and indirectly to promoting autonomous learning and the use of the acquired knowledge in other skills.
