Abstract: This paper focuses on the analysis of 3G mobile communications systems in scenarios with non-uniformly distributed traffic. Special attention is paid to the impact of hotspots on uplink BLER and admission control. Load balance is carried out by dynamically varying common pilot power. Results reveal that the performance of the system in the uplink may be improved when applying such technique.
