Abstract: In recent years there has been a paradigm shift in the concept of inclusive education. This represents a great challenge for the current educational system given that its objective is to be able to offer quality education with equal opportunities to all the diversity of students, regardless of their abilities, as well as their family, economic, cultural, sexual condition. In such a way that it urges to reduce school exclusion and dropout, eliminating all those barriers that limit or hinder access and participation in learning, as well as promoting intercultural values to foster more just, supportive and inclusive societies. Therefore, it is a challenge that can not only be addressed from the classrooms of educational centers, but is a collective responsibility that requires the involvement and networking of the entire educational community. In this research work, it is proposed to know what the profession of Social Education can contribute to this great challenge in two ways: the first through a bibliographic review of the regulatory and conceptual framework of inclusive education, as well as the professional trajectory of the Social Education in the field of formal education; and the second, interviewing different social educators who work in different schools and institutes; and also, disseminating a form to different people who have some connection with primary and secondary education centers. This research allows us to know what the social perception is in reference to inclusive education in primary and secondary education centers in Girona, as well as the assessment of the incorporation of the professional figure of social educators in these educational centers. The review and analysis of all the information collected allows us to know what the current difficulties of educational centers are in offering quality education for all the diversity of students, as well as demonstrating how Social Education is a profession of great value for all centers of primary and secondary education to guarantee inclusive education.
