Reacciones en el Media Art ante la vigilancia y el control de datos en la Red nuevos paradigmas (2001-2010)

Abstract

La percepción de Internet como espacio de independencia y autonomía por el que apostaba el mundo de la creación de finales del siglo XX, parece haberse convertido durante la primera década de este siglo en un espacio hipervigilado sin apenas opción de encontrar en él reductos no controlados. Desde el media art, algunos artistas y colectivos comienzan entre 2001 y 2010 a experimentar con nuevas estrategias que rompen las fronteras tecnológicas en manos del poder, logrando comunicar su esencia directamente y con total transparencia a los ciudadanos. En este artículo se presentan algunos de los proyectos artísticos más destacados dentro del ámbito del New Media Art en dicho periodo.

The perception of Internet as a space of independence and empowerment wagered for by the creative world at the end of the 20th century seems to have become, during the first decade of this century, a space subjected to extreme surveillance in which it is almost impossible to find a bastion free from control. From media art, some artists and collectives started, between 2001 and 2010, to experiment with new strategies that would break through the technological boundaries in the hands of the establishment and managed to communicate their essence directly to the public with complete transparency. This article presents some of the most outstanding artistic projects from the field of the new media of the aforementioned period.
