Abstract: The perception of Internet as a space of independence and empowerment wagered for by the creative world at the end of the 20th century seems to have become, during the first decade of this century, a space subjected to extreme surveillance in which it is almost impossible to find a bastion free from control. From media art, some artists and collectives started, between 2001 and 2010, to experiment with new strategies that would break through the technological boundaries in the hands of the establishment and managed to communicate their essence directly to the public with complete transparency. This article presents some of the most outstanding artistic projects from the field of the new media of the aforementioned period.
