Title: Bienes del Mediterráneo Antiguo declarados Patrimonio Mundial por la UNESCO

Abstract: This Master's Final Project aims to study cultural assets, of the Ancient Mediterranean, which have been declared World Heritage by UNESCO. These properties, which are located in eighteen of the twenty-three countries that make up the Mediterranean basin, are the material evidence that bears witness to the ancient cultures that produced them. With this study we try to get closer to the reality of the ancient World Heritage, declared by UNESCO, taking into account that, to carry out the proposed objectives, a specific representative set of cultural assets, which allows us to study the reality of the ancient properties declared World Heritage in the Mediterranean basin. In In total, ten examples (case studies) have been selected in order to know their historical characteristics, its declaration, its state of conservation, its management and its economic and tourist uses. These ten examples are also used to contrast the statements and criteria that were taken into account when evaluating the Value Exceptional Universal, which allowed them to be included in the World Heritage List. These ten examples, belonging to two different periods, help us to analyze the variations and evolution that World Heritage declarations have had, from the late seventies to the present.
