Title: Traducció i anàlisi traductològicca de l'anglès al català d'un article publicat a Nature sobre el consum del fentanil
Author: Montes Ausín, Esther
Tutor: Ausió Dot, Ariadna
Abstract: This Bachelor's Degree Final Project consists of the translation from English into Catalan of a fragment of a highly specialized scientific article on a drug, fentanyl, written by several researchers from Chinese universities. It details empirical data on the causes and consequences of the illicit use of fentanyl. This translation can help to understand the epidemic that this drug is causing from a medical and social standpoint. The work includes the analysis of the main difficulties of scientific translation and the translation strategies used to solve them, especially regarding the specificity of the terminology of scientific texts. It also addresses the linguistic difficulties inherent to the differences between English and Catalan.
