Abstract: This essay explores the connection between the parallel emergence of computing and the Navajo Code-Talking in the context of the Second World War. This parallel is explored through a set of methodologies and questions overlapping social and technological aspects of cryptography. To nurture the argumentation process, the authors interviewed a former Code-Talker and complemented this research with secondary sources to discuss new vocabularies of Media Archaeology.
