Traducció d’un conveni regulador de divorci de l’anglès al català

Abstract

Aquest treball final de grau se centra en la traducció de l’anglès al català d’un conveni regulador de divorci; un document de l’àmbit juridicoeconòmic que regula les relacions personals, econòmiques i patrimonials entre els diferents membres d'una família en un procediment de mutu acord. D’una banda, la introducció i la contextualització teòrica ofereixen una visió general que posa de manifest les diferències lingüístiques i jurídiques que hi ha entre totes dues cultures: la anglosaxona i la catalana. I, de l’altra, la traducció del document pròpiament junt amb la corresponent defensa de les decisions traductològiques que s’han dut a terme al llarg de tot el procés fan palesa la rellevància de formar professionals especialitzats per a la traducció de textos que inclouen accions transcendents per a la ciutadania.

This bachelor's thesis focuses on translating a divorce agreement from English into Catalan; a legal-economic document that dictates how spouses handle their affairs when dealing with an uncontested divorce. On the one hand, the introduction and theoretical framework offer a general overview that highlights both linguistic and legal differences between the English and Catalan culture. On the other hand, the translation of the document itself, together with the corresponding practical arguments that justify the decisions taken throughout the process, highlight the importance of training specialised professionals for the translation of documents involving transcendent citizen actions.
