Abstract: The term cognitive stimulation refers to all those activities aimed at improving general cognitive performance or one of its specific processes and components (attention, memory, language, executive functions, calculation, etc.), either in healthy subjects as well as in patients with some type of injury on the central nervous system. In some contexts the term rehabilitation it's used, which goes beyond and involves the recovery of the status of the patients at the highest possible level of functioning at physical, psychological and social adaption. This set includes all possible means to reduce the impact of disabling conditions to allow patients to reach an optimal level of social integration. In this subject the main cognitive functions will be analyzed, and we will work how to stimulate with the aim of reaching the maximal functional level, both in people with no alteration in the central nervous system as in those with diseases that affect the cognitive function.
