Abstract: Integrating a quotient of polynomials , also called rational function or rational fraction is not always easy. A strategy to achieve this is to break them down into fractions, with that sum it can be integrated directly. The same applies in calculating the Laplace transform. This text explains in detail the steps to breaking a rational function in sum of simple fractions.
