Abstract: With the advent of Bluetooth Smart and low power consumption, it has opened a whole new range of possibilities for Proximity experiences. Using Bluetooth Smart beacons makes possible to create new supplier-user experiences by detecting users who are approaching a specific location. The low cost of the BLE devices coupled with the possibility of being active for long periods of time with a coin battery, that can "landmark" in any place regardless of whether there is electricity in such place, so can be placed in outdoors locations. To make this possible, it is necessary that the user has a BLE-compatible device and have installed an application that could recognise the detected beacon. This application can offer to the user from personalised deals to additional information. The present project shows the possibilities of the use of beacons to provide information about cultural activities in large-scale events, with multiple locations and changing programming time.
