Abstract: Leukemia constitutes a significant percentage of total cancer cases reported annually. Since cancer is the second leading cause of death worldwide, finding new drugs for its treatment is essential. Design or search for drugs of high specificity and affinity for the target protein results in an improved prognosis and life expectancy of the patient. However, to find a good drug, it is first necessary to identify possible therapeutic targets. In the present work, key genes involved in leukemia were selected by searching various public databases. Subsequently, a gene interaction network was created in order to obtain those genes (nine in total) that have a central role in the development and course of the disease. Assuming these genes as potential therapeutic targets, molecular docking has been made to test a number of drugs. As a result, the best molecular coupling obtained was the one between N6- benzyl-ADP and RU78783 with Src oncoprotein. Both drugs, which are in experimental phase, interact with the SH2 and SH3 domains of Src, which appears constitutively activated in a high percentage of cancer cells. These interactions would result both in a catalytic and/or conformational silencing of the target protein, thereby exerting a possible antitumor activity.
