Abstract: The expansion of the internet and the progressive virtualization of universities and their libraries have prompted a rethinking of the UOC's learning model. This new model enhances the redefinition of the professional profile of the Library staff, involving the mentoring of the teaching staff from the moment they plan to open up a new course with the librarian taking on the role of coach within a multidisciplinary team. During this mentoring, the tasks of searching for, selecting, acquiring, producing and evaluating the learning resources that will be used during teaching are intensified. The communication sets out the starting point, the pilot test and the adjustments to scale the mentoring model to the teaching staff on all of the courses. The results that have been obtained are: a greater use of the knowledge produced by the University, an intensification of use of the Library¿s collection and the facilitating of new agreements, partnerships or subscriptions for materials suppliers and channels.
