Abstract: The present Master's Thesis is focused on the dual host/pathogen transcriptomic analyses for the Eucalyptus grandis/ Chrysoporthe austroafricana pathosystem, testing the host genetic resistant and the effect of the pathogen infection. A pipeline and its script were developed for downloading and pre-processing of sequences, and subsequent RNA-seq analysis. Computational requirement and the importance of a proper number of biological replicates are discussed. In host, gene expression is determined by host resistant genetic and infectious disease process. The functional enrichment analyses improved the knowledge on biological process involved in the response mechanisms in plant as a result of the pathogen infection for this pathosystem.
