Title: La incapacitació de persones grans amb demència, vista des del treball social sanitari

Abstract: What this Master Thesis pretends is to be able to show what vision and what work the social work professionals carry out in the process of incapacitation of elderly people with dementia, as well as those of the patient¿s families / users at the time to whether initiate or not the process. Giving importance to working beyond the simple administrative / judicial process, with the ability to carry out and execute a diagnosis, process and follow-up of what implications the modification of the ability to act has. The Medical Social Worker has to act having in mind at any time the biopsychosocial aspects of the patient, informing, counselling, advising and using all the techniques of the social work to identify, analyse and evaluate the situation when it comes to promote and intervene in the process. Also, have to take into account what it mean for the family and its entourage to incapacitate a loving one (taking or not the role of the guardian), how they lived the whole process, which is their vision and how they linked with the professional and the different resources.
