Title: Les dificultats en la memòria procedimental en nens amb trastorn específic del llenguatge oral

Abstract: Specific language impairment (SLI) have been studied from linguistic level and cognitive level. The aim of this project is based on cognitive abilities and it tries to evaluate sequential learning and procedural memory. Support the Procedural Deficit Hypothesis and check out difficulties in procedural memory in children with SLI by comparison with their peers with typical development (TD), from early periods of education, are mainly the objectives. For that reason, the participants of this investigation are studying P4, 1st and 2nd of Primary School. They have been resolving a visual-motor task, focused on mental imagery, dynamic or spatial in this case, where they have been using their mental rotation ability, discrimination and location of images. The results that have been obtained show the difficulties in procedural memory in children with SLI, by comparison with their peers with TD. As it has been explained, the results have been more evident in 1st and 2nd of Primary School than in P4. Also, the study has been analysed the connection between that difficulties and the age of children with TD or with SLI and between that difficulties and the diagnosis of children with TEL. In conclusion, the procedural deficit in children with TEL, from early periods of education, exists but sequential learning is required to follow its studies, with tasks as specific as the task we have been used in this article; even though with more participants to generalise the results of the project.
