Abstract: In recent years there has been an increase in Wi-Fi networks due to its ease of installation, flexibility and low cost. These networks have great advantages for their implementation in any environment and their main purpose is to provide access to the Internet. The services and information offered by the Internet have been a great advance for our society. However, these types of wireless networks have the great inconvenience of security. Wi-Fi networks that are not properly protected are vulnerable, and present risks and threats to users. Likewise, the Internet is not free of dangers, as security incidents increase every day due to insufficient protection of these accesses. One of the objectives of this work is to provide a broad view of Wi-Fi networks and the importance of their security. For this, the different attacks and vulnerabilities of this type of networks will be explained, and the new systems (WPA3 and Enhanced Open) will be specified that will serve to create solutions that provide robustness to the network. For the protection of Internet access, the different profiles that can be configured according to the required security level will be defined. Applying these tools will reduce possible incidents and minimize threats to devices in their Internet communications. Finally, various recommendations to reduce security risks will be presented, and through practical cases, the effectiveness of these solutions and configurations for the protection of different environments will be demonstrated.
