Abstract: The aim of this project is to develop a vehicle controlled remotely by a desktop application installed in a computer. Both, the vehicle and the computer are connected to the same WiFi network and the communication is based on a server-client protocol were the vehicle is the server. To control the vehicle a picture and an ultrasonic map are sent from the vehicle to the computer, the operator make a decision and send the movement orders back. The ultrasonic map is made by moving the ultrasonic sensor at different angles and getting a sample. On the vehicle there is an Arduino Mega 2560 card whose function is to receive all the necessary signals to be sent to the computer or to improve its functionality. The control of the actuators is also done by this microcontroller. The desktop application has been programmed in Java language by using the software Netbeans 8.2. In the current document will be exposed the feasibility of the system supported by tests to the different significant devices, such as the motion control, the ultrasonic sensor and the camera.
