Author: Durá Buades, Elena
Tutor: Gallardo, Sandra
Abstract: The goal of education in the XXI century is to attend to diversity through the paradigm of inclusive education in accordance with what the UN (United Nations) and the UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) have been asking. In Spain we have been making some progress, some regulations and laws have been enacted at a national level as well as a regional level. Although we have still to find out whether those performances have been put into practice so that they respond to this model, what those elements are and what are made of. The goal of the present end of Master's Thesis is the betterment of the educational practice through the study made in the CEIP Mediterráneo (a Nursery and Primary School in Alicante). It has the purpose of getting to know the organization, the functions and resources of the educational centre in which inclusive education has been implemented and to offer in this way an approximation of a model of inclusive education. The methodology applied to gather the information and data was carried out through semi-structured interviews and multi survey questionnaires. Those showed that the practices at the mentioned centre are in fact designed to attend to the diversity in the classroom from the point of view of educational and social functions of the school.
