Digitalización en empresas públicas de abastecimiento y saneamiento de agua en pequeños y medianos núcleos urbanos

Abstract

Durante el desarrollo de este trabajo se estudiarán las necesidades de las empresas públicas de abastecimiento y saneamiento de agua en pequeños y medianos núcleos de población, de tamaño inferior a cien mil habitantes. Este tipo de gestión del agua se encuentra en un escaso nivel de digitalización, y es necesaria una transformación que convierta a estas empresas en organizaciones donde la tecnología tenga un papel innovador y ayude a aprovechar plenamente los recursos hídricos. Todo ello redundará en beneficio del cliente final, el cual obtendrá un producto de mayor calidad, así como un servicio más eficiente. A lo largo del trabajo, se expondrán las mejoras que se esperan conseguir con la implantación de un ERP y un Sistema de Información Geográfica integrado en este, así como con la implantación de un sistema SCADA que gestione y monitorice de forma remota toda la red de abastecimiento y saneamiento. De igual forma se presentarán los objetivos a medio y largo plazo que se pretenden alcanzar. Como resultado, se analizarán las diferentes alternativas existentes en el mercado y sus funcionalidades.

Durant el desenvolupament d'aquest treball s'estudiaran les necessitats de les empreses públiques de proveïment i sanejament d'aigua en petits i mitjans nuclis de població, de mida inferior a cent mil habitants. Aquest tipus de gestió de l'aigua es troba en un escàs nivell de digitalització, i és necessària una transformació que converteixi a aquestes empreses en organitzacions on la tecnologia tingui un paper innovador i ajudi a aprofitar plenament els recursos hídrics. Tot això redundarà en benefici de el client final, el qual obtindrà un producte de major qualitat, així com un servei més eficient. Al llarg de la feina, s'exposaran les millores que s'esperen aconseguir amb la implantació d'un ERP i un Sistema d'Informació Geogràfica integrat en aquest, així com amb la implantació d'un sistema SCADA que gestioni i monitoritzi de forma remota tota la xarxa de proveïment i sanejament. De la mateixa manera es presentaran els objectius a mitjà i llarg termini que es pretenen assolir. Com a resultat, s'analitzaran les diferents alternatives existents al mercat i les seves funcionalitats.

During the development of this work, the needs of public water supply and sanitation companies in small and medium sized towns with less than 100,000 inhabitants will be studied. This type of water management is at a low level of digitalization, and a transformation is needed to turn these companies into organizations where technology plays an innovative role and helps to make full use of water resources. All of this will benefit the end customer, who will obtain a higher quality product, as well as a more efficient service. Throughout the document, the improvements expected to be achieved with the implementation of an ERP and a Geographical Information System integrated into it, as well as with the implementation of a SCADA system that remotely manages and monitors the entire supply and sanitation network, will be presented. Similarly, the medium- and long-term objectives to be achieved will be set out. As a result, the different alternatives on the market and their functionalities will be analyzed. Next, the optimum tool for this type of organization will be chosen after evaluating each one, paying special attention to the available Open-Source initiatives, both at hardware and software level. The different work phases for the implementation of the solution will be developed, as well as risk assessment and change management. Finally, the conclusions reached will be presented.
