Abstract: This research aimed to analyze the museographic methods used at the Anthropological and Contemporary Art Museum (MAAC) of Guayaquil city that allows the construction of heritage meaning and generate significant experiences in visitors, the profile of visitors and the aspects of museum methods that lead to this result, as well as the process of understanding the meaning of heritage. A qualitative-quantitative methodological approach with a descriptive scope was applied. The research design was non-experimental and transversal. In this way, the largest number of data was collected using the following research techniques: bibliographic review, participant observation for two days during the working week and four days on weekends, 383 surveys for adult and elderly visitors; and 5 experts interviews. The museographic practice of the Anthropological and Contemporary Art Museum (MAAC) for the construction of heritage meaning and significant experiences showed that this is possible through the combination of museum models and resources to attract different types of public, considering that each individual interprets and constructs meanings in a personal way. Therefore, these methods are focused on visual, auditory and sensitive people due to the use of multisensory resources; especially local audiences for stories that relate to their cultural context; and people of different ages and levels of study through the use of simple and easily understood language, as well as through the use of interactive digital resources. Finally, the museographic methodology of the MAAC can generate better results both in the archeology and contemporary art exhibitions with the implementation of a cultural mediation program for different types of public based on ages, levels of study and multiple intelligences that facilitate interpretation, construction of meanings and significant experiences.
