Abstract: The Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a reality in the classroom and becomes a challenge for teachers. This paper analyzes how the inclusion of students with ASD in academic and leisure activities at the primary school stage in two schools in Barcelona (Sant Andreu and Les Corts districts) takes place; the barriers and facilitating elements to guarantee inclusion are determined and the perception of the advantages of this inclusion in teachers and families is analyzed. A mixed methodology was used, administering a questionnaire to 14 primary school teachers and 10 family members of students with ASD. The results show that teachers include students with ASD in academic activities through the personalization of learning and visual supports, but do not intervene in leisure time, agreeing with other research on the need to intervene in this area. The main barriers to inclusion are the lack of training, time, resources and the high ratio of female students. The facilitating elements are fluid communication with families and the use of ICT. Finally, teachers and families perceive multiple advantages in inclusive education, highlighting tolerance of diversity.
