Title: Realidad virtual en el aula de secundaria. Una aproximación a su potencial en la materia de Historia

Abstract: Virtual reality is a booming technology in the classroom due to the lower cost of the devices needed to use it. This study addresses the use of virtual reality in the secondary school classroom for the subject of History, establishing a series of advantages, as well as its limitations and potential. In order to elaborate this TFM we have consulted several studies and articles that allow us to observe the state of the question and the impressions of the users. We have also handled sources of information that help to conceptualize the didactics of history and virtual reality in order to find points of union between this technology and the teaching-learning process of the subject. The results allow us to determine a series of advantages for the use of this technology in the secondary history classroom, such as its motivating component, historical contextualization, personalization of learning and its compatibility with different educational methodologies. The disadvantages focus on the infrastructure required for its use, the user experience and the considerations about its use. In addition, based on the two previous ones, a series of recommendations for its use and its potential for the subject are established, emphasizing its immersive aspect. The conclusions allow us to affirm that this is a beneficial technology for the learning of History in secondary school that has numerous advantages and a great potential for the work of historical thinking, the critical and civic spirit of the students and that can help educational inclusion.
