Author: Gonzalez Monjo, Raul

Abstract: Unaccompanied foreign minors form part of a vulnerable group, firstly because of their status as strangers, because they are minors, and because they arrive without any educational reference. Thus, as homeless minors, they need protection, as well as educational proposals to facilitate their inclusion in society. The present research work, which is based on a literature review, own experience and the views of other professionals, aims to analyze and understand the importance of working with nature in the process of learning and inclusion of young migrants. Thus, the research is contextualized in the education received by the youngsters in the different juvenile centers where they are sent once they arrive in the territory, and takes as a starting point the objective and subjective needs of the immigrant adolescents. The design of this study is based on the qualitative/interpretative ethnographic paradigm, as well as on a thorough bibliographical research of the most important authors on the subject, to finally present the most relevant results in relation to the role played by nature in inclusive processes, as well as their potential for the learning of young migrants who arrive alone in Catalonia, and who are part of the reception centers of the territory.
