Abstract: The aim of this Master's thesis is to investigate and analyse burnout syndrome in teachers in Catalonia, in order to find out the degree of burnout, the causes and consequences of the illness. It also looks at how the syndrome influences teaching work and classroom management. The research has been carried out using a quantitative or empirical-analytical methodology of the Ex-post-facto or non-experimental type, where two questionnaires have been used. On the one hand, the Masalch Burnout Inventory (MBI), which consists of 22 items with three key dimensions: emotional exhaustion (EE), depersonalisation (D) and personal fulfilment (RP). On the other hand, with an ad hoc questionnaire that has been implemented with the aim of providing and extending the information and analysis of the subject of study. Specifically, questions were asked about symptoms, teaching work and classroom management. The research sample consisted of 75 teachers from Baix Llobregat, Barcelonès and Vallès Occidental. The main conclusions are the presence of burnout in early childhood education teachers, muscle pain as the main symptom that causes the disease and the lack of tools and strategies to manage the emotions of teachers and students.
