Title: L'ensenyament i aprenentatge de la composició escrita: la pràctica docent en un centre de secundària

Abstract: Students' proficiency in writing is a concern of educational administrations internationally. The fieldwork carried out allowed an approximation of how writing skills are learnt and tought in a Compulsory Secondary Education Institution. To do so, the actions of the two agents involved have been analysed. The first is the school management team, which is in charge of establishing the Educational Centre Plan and leading all pedagogical action. The second is the teachers, who are in charge of applying strategies in class to foster good writing skills among the pupils. To carry out the investigation, a questionnaire that collects twenty-four educational practices that are effective according to experts has been designed. Results show that only one-third of the practices are consolidated among teaching staff. On the other hand, the interviews done with the school management team verify that the Educational Centre Plan is suitable, although there are some actions left to implement. Also, the analysis of the questionnaire's results provides the management team with new elements to reflect upon regarding the pedagogical action on this issue.
