Author: Acuña Briceño, Alexa
Tutor: Gázquez Cano, Miriam
Abstract: The purpose of this work is to incorporate literature in the ELE classroom together with the use of a technological tool in order for students to strengthen both written skills and reading comprehension. The general objective consists on designing a didactic proposal with Quizizz as a platform that promotes the comprehension and analysis of the Costa Rican short story "Un matoneado" in the class of Spanish as a second language with B2 students. This intervention is made up of three sessions through which various activities will be carried out, such as the preparation of a glossary of unknown words, the creation of an avatar and the writing of a review. Likewise, the use of Quizizz will serve for individual participation in an interactive lesson and for a group quiz. For the formative and summative evaluation, self-evaluation and peer-evaluation rubrics will be used. This proposal exemplifies the use of literature in the SSL classroom as part of an immersion program, in which the student body will increase their level of mastery of the foreign language and learn more about Costa Rican culture. In conclusion, this didactic proposal promotes various skills and abilities, such as teamwork, literacy, autonomy, communicative competence, among others. In addition, the use of Quizizz is a motivating element, which makes it possible to understand the short-story "Un matoneado" as well as the study of the structure of a written review.
