Title: | La metáfora conceptual: un estudio comparativo de la obra Cien años de soledad y su traducción al italiano |

Abstract: | After the publication of Metaphors We Live By by Jakoff and Johnson in 1980, the field of linguistics experienced a paradigm change regarding metaphor and its characteristics towards a more cognitive approach. Building on this work, many theorists have decided to delve into research on metaphors through a more dynamic approach, replacing the perception of this rhetorical figure as a mere embellishing element of language for a broader, interdisciplinary perspective. Using this theoretical framework, this dissertation aims to analyze and extract the conceptual metaphors in Gabriel Garcia Marquez's One Hundred Years of Solitude and compare them with their Italian translation. In this way, we hope to identify the differences and similarities in the systems of conceptual metaphors that govern each language and reflect on the translation techniques used. |
