Abstract: Currently, and after the events of the COVID19 social and health crisis, the world has undergone a drastic change in the way organizations operate, digitalization is growing by leaps and bounds, and organizations must adapt and use digital technologies to improve their performance. Digital transformation implies a paradigm shift in the way of management, as it involves profound changes in the way companies operate and relate to all their stakeholders (customers, employees and suppliers). Digital transformation optimizes processes, provides new products and services, thus becoming a competitive advantage in a globalized economic environment, which increasingly demands the incorporation of new technologies that improve productivity and efficiency, optimizing data-driven decision making, mostly oriented to improve the customer experience. However, this orientation on digitization taken by most organizations, is mostly oriented towards customer satisfaction, so there is no digital transformation, they are simply isolated operational technology tools, which, in many cases, lose value and effectiveness, as it has an operational approach, so they do not reach their full potential and can generate a negative and wasted return on investment (ROI). The present research study, tries to analyze through three theoretical models of digital transformation that can serve as tools for human capital management, to help plan and implement the digital strategy, the need for digital transformation, as a comparative and competitive advantage of the employee and not so much from the customer satisfaction. Currently, the competitive environment of the fitness sector is atomized and homogenized, this means that the digital competitive advantage oriented towards customer satisfaction/experience, no longer acquires a seal of identity and quality, so that the customer simply establishes his choice by price/rate. The digital transformation of the fitness sector, involves cultural and organizational changes, as it requires companies to adopt a mindset focused on innovation, agility and adaptability, and above all involve the acquisition of new skills and capabilities in digital matters, on their employees, acquiring a role of special importance the area of human resources, as an integrating area of the digital strategy for the entire organization, and on its employees.
