Abstract: This work involves the following clinical case: a 32-year-old woman with higher education, diagnosed with Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension since 2011, but with symptoms since 1997. She lives independently, but with a 100% incapacity for work. IIH is a chronic disease consisting of elevated intracranial pressure with an unknown origin. This disease can involve from headaches, vomiting and insomnia to cognitive impairment and secondary emotional disturbances. The assessment shows difficulties in attentional processes (sustained and selective attention), mnesic (encoding) and linguistic (writing), along with visoconstructive praxis and executive functions (verbal fluency and abstraction). Likewise, moderate depression secondary to the disease is observed and the quality of life related to health is diminished. The objective of the intervention is the rehabilitation of the attentional and linguistic processes, as well as to compensate the memory deficits with external supports. In turn, it is aimed to intervene on the emotional components and establish strategies to reduce the functional impact of the disease. The intervention program has an initial duration of 10 weeks with a total of 20 sessions. It is a flexible approach since disease’s crises can intercede in the intended course. Psychoeducation will be carried out on the neuropsychological aspects of IIH and its impact, as well as training in emotional tools and relaxation techniques. In addition, cognitive stimulation will be implemented, providing also compensatory strategies. Finally, new technologies will be used to intervene on functional difficulties.
